Touch Stone, The

Sound recording, story; The Touch Stone, a literary tale from Rabindranath Tagore, a moral tale and Sufi story from Bengal, told by Ben Haggarty, as part of a performance Medieval Tales, in Medieval Mayhem medieval festival, at the Guild Hall, Sandwich, Kent, 26th August 2006.

A story told by Ben Haggarty about a man obsessed with finding the touchstone which will change base metal to gold. The man travels through the world picking up stones and touching them to a metal chain around his waist. His actions become so automatic that he doesn't notice when he succeeds in finding the stone.
