a Stories about Storytelling story

Sound recording, story; an historical tale and The Talking Skull, an African moral tale, trickster tale, folk tale and story about storytelling, told by Sally Pomme Clayton as part of a performance, A River of Tales in relation to an exhibition about David Livingstone, in The National Portrait Gallery, London, 12th April 1996.

Story told by Sally Pomme Clayton. Continuation of a frame story referring to Livingstone's encounter with Victoria Falls, followed by a story. A man finds a talking skull, and takes it to the chief of his village. The skull then refuses to talk or tell stories, and the man is executed. Only then will the skull speak again.
