Story told by Sally Pomme Clayton. Continuation of a frame story referring to Livingstone's encounter with a Lion; his magic lantern shows and his journey through the jungle, followed by a riddle about a drum, and a traditional tale. A story about a time when their was only one road on the Earth that went anywhere and everywhere. God offers the hand of his 39th daughter in marriage to the person who can guess her name. Road tells Spider the name of the 39th daughter, Spider tells Cameleon, and Spider uses a drum to beat the rythm of the name so he doesn't forget it. God doesn't understand Spider's drumming and lets Cameleon marry his daughter instead. God then punishes Road by breaking him into many peices.
