Musical interlude by The New Folks followed by story told by Daniel Morden. Jack seeks his fortune with the hlep of a magical horse. On his jounrney he helps the King of the Herrings and the King of the Giants, before finding a golden feather which he shows to his King. This sets off a string of demands from the King. The King first demands the bird from which the feather came; then the Princess of the Sun as a wife; then the Princess's palace and the key to its gate to be brought to him. Jack succeeds in these tasks with the help of his magic horse; the King of the Giants, and the King of the Herrings. The Princess choses to marry Jack instead of the King, provided that Jack kills his horse. The horse persuades Jack to kill him, releasing the spirit of Jack's dead father.
