Sound recording, story; Why the Unicorn is No
More, a Medieval European creation myth, aetiological or how and
why story, and apocryphal tale, told by Ben Haggarty, at the
Living Crafts exhibition, at Hatfield House, Hertfordshire,
England, 7th May 2006
|
|
Story told by Ben Haggarty. The story tells of
how the Unicorn was refused space on the ark, built by Noah on
God's instruction, to avoid a great flood, but how, before it
drowns, the Unicorn punctures the boat with its horn. The methods
Mrs Noah employs to block the hole in the ark, provide an
explantion for why dogs have wet noses; women have cold elbows,
and why men always warm their buttocks in front of the
fire.
