Cook and the Ducks, The

Sound recording, story; The Cook and the Ducks, a folk tale and trickster tale from Germany, collected by the Brothers Grimm, told and acted out by pupils, as part of a performance Go Down in Legend, as the finale of a school storytelling project led by Ben Haggarty, in King Alfred's School, in an unidentified location in England, 4th February, 1990.

Continuation of the frame story of Jimmy told by a pupil in role as a Master of Ceremonies, followed by a story told and acted out by three pupils. A maid is instructed by her master to cook two ducks for himself and a guest. When one of the duck's wings becomes singed in the fire, the maid eats it, and begins a process of eating both of the ducks in their entirety.
